What is a Cash Back Site?

Cashback sites pay you money everything you click through and buy from a retailer through a cash back site.

You can pretty much buy anything through a cash back site like a food shop, clothes or even big things like holidays and your mortgage.

Even if you found a discount somewhere else, you can still use a cashback site and save money.

It’s true that sometimes you may only make pennies back but on somethings, it can be pounds! It’s so easy to make hundreds of pounds a year by using cashback sites instead of going straight through a retailer.

How Does a Cash Back Site Work?

If you’re wondering how cashback sites work then it’s very simple.

Search the cashback site you’re on with the companies online store you want to shop with. Click through the link like you would normally. Your purchase will then be tracked and your cashback recorded. It can take a few days to be confirmed and show in your account.

You can then transfer it out straight to your bank account or to PayPal.

These are the best top cashback sites that you can use whenever you spend money online.

You can start earning cashback really quickly with all these sites but please do remember to cash out everytime you earn money. Your cash isn’t protected until it’s in your bank account.

OhMyDosh

OhMyDosh* is an easy to use cashback site that’s free to use. It’s not like a normal cashback site though. OhMyDosh gives you loads of ways you can make money including:

  • The refer a friend scheme. Refer your friends to OhMyDosh and earn yourself £5 for every sign up and your friend £1.
  • Competitions: Enter them for free and receive money.
  • Shop through them to earn the bigger rewards.

The best thing about OhMyDosh is that you only need to make £10 to “dosh out” and they pay out through your bank or through PayPal.

If you are new to OhMyDosh* then use our link here to get your first free £1.

You can read more about how OhMyDosh works here.

Quidco

Quidco* is a great way to save money. We’ve saved over £200 in the last few months and their site is really easy to use.

Use our link here and get a £1 added to your account for free when you reach £5 of cashback.*

It’s free to join Quidco* and they have access to over 4,000 retailers, and a lot of these are big household names.

You can also use Quidco* to even save money on your weekly food shop with their Click Snap app.

If you want to save even more then they do offer a premium membership which costs £5 a year. This gets you around £50 a year worth of promotions. It’s not paid upfront. It’s taken from the cashback you earn. It’s all about getting better bonuses. We upgraded three months ago and have earned over 30% more than on the basic membership.

It’s really easy to get your money out. It can go straight into your bank account or via PayPal.

There’s loads of Quidco member offers!

Dominos Pizza – If you’re looking for a treat for the whole family then try Dominos. You can get cashback by joining Quidco* here.

Fashion – Quidco has so many high street retailers including Geroge at Asda, GAP and New Look. Check out
Quidco’s Fashion category for the full list.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks* is free to join and like Quidco you can save money while shopping online. The good thing about Swagbucks is that you can also earn money by watching videos, playing games and taking part in surveys.

There’s an option to download their SwagButton* for free which pops-up and reminds you about the cashback you could earn.

You can collect points which then can be used as cash and transferred via PayPal or gift cards.

TopCashback

TopCashback* is a great place to start if you’re new to cashback sites. New members get free offers and high cashback on spends.

TopCashback* is the largest cashback site with over 5,000 retailers onboard. You can get money back from switching your car insurance to buying your weekly shop.

When you sign up as a member, you are automatically added to their Plus membership which costs £5 a year. You get a free month trial and you can downgrade to the free classic membership if you decide you don’t want to continue it.

By having the higher membership you can save more. You don’t have to pay for the membership as it is taken out of the first £5 cashback you make. With the higher membership, you do get bigger bonuses of up to 10%.

You can use TopCashback* on the high street too. Register your bank card and shop as normal. Upload your receipt to get your cashback.

The good thing about TopCashback is that they don’t have a minimum payout level. You can receive the money during BACS, PayPal or by gift cards.

KidStart

Smaller than some other cashback sites, this is for us lot who have kids!

It works differently. Anything you earn gets put into a child’s saving account. The site itself says that you could earn over £200 a year into a saving account for your child.

It does have to be a child’s saving account but can be with any bank or building society.

Boom25

Boom25 works a bit differently. Every 25th shopper wins all their money back.

There’s no guarantee that you’ll get anything but if you are the lucky 25th shopper then you will get more than the basic amount that the bigger cashback sites are currently offering.

It is free to join and they pay via PayPal.

QuickRewards

This is another site that’s not just about getting cashback.

You can earn money by doing surveys and playing games while saving money through cashback on their site.

You can earn by reading emails and visiting other sites.

Are There Any Downsides To Using a Cash Back Site?

Make sure that you shop around like normal. Getting cashback may not be the cheapest way to purchase the item you want.

You may not always get your cashback as it’s not guaranteed. Sometimes the link doesn’t track or there is another issue that you will not be aware of. Clear you cookies before you shop to help make sure the tracking links sticks.

Some cash back sites don’t work with voucher codes so you could be loosing more by not using a voucher and using the cash back.

For household bills, always use a price comparison site to check deals as you may get it cheaper going direct.

Lastly, always cash out as soon as you can. Your money is not protected like a bank so if something happens there’s no way to get your money back. It is only yours when it hits your bank account. Always withdraw the money straight away.

What the * means

If a link has an * by it, then this means it is an affiliate link and helps S4SM stay free for all. If you use the link, it may mean that we receive a very small payment. It will not cost you anymore that it would normally.

You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. The items we write about are NEVER dictated by these links. We aim to look at all products on the market. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link, then the link, or product is still included in the same way, just with a non-paying link.
