#Week Two Meal Plan – Jingle All the Way

#Week Two Meal Plan – Jingle All the Way

The countdown has begun! With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve had to think hard and fast about what we’ll be eating next week. This week was a bit of a pain. I planned well up until yesterday, when I forgot we planned loads of play date lunches, so the meal plan pretty much went out the window.

I’ve been dropping the balls all over the place for the last few weeks, thank god for my meal plans, as to be honest, food is just one less thing for me to think about at the moment! It was also my eldest daughter’s birthday party AND my husband’s birthday on Sunday, so we splashed out on a carvery lunch, one, so I wouldn’t have to cook, and two, so the kids would have had something decent to eat that day. In typical kid style though, they refused to eat any of it!!

Anyway, as a reminder, here was my food plan for this week, now with my adjustments:

Friday 16th – 22nd Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Friday Scotch Pancakes and Smoothie Soup & Bread Shepard’s Pie
Saturday Soreen Bar & Hoops Eggy bread & Smoothie Crackers, Cheese & Crisps Fish Cakes, Homemade Chips & Beans
Sunday Weetabix OUT – Carvery Party Dinner
Monday Egg & Toast Sandwiches, Apple & Crisps Beef Curry & Rice
Tuesday Shreddies Pancakes & Pear

Cheesy Muffins & Banana cake

Pasta and Cheese Sauce
Wednesday Soreen Bar & Banana Hot Cross Buns, Crisps and Apple Sausages, Mash  Waffles & Beans
Thursday Fruit toast Pancakes & Banana

Play Date Lunch

Homemade Pizza & Garlic Bread

I’ve managed to do what I haven’t been able to manage in a couple of weeks, and gone back to enforcing the fruit as snacks rule. Its been hard work to be honest, but one I really plan on cracking down on.

So yesterday evening was shopping day for us, thanks to Christmas and because The Hub couldn’t bear to shop on the last Friday before Christmas. Really don’t blame him to be honest.

My list for him was a long one, and all credit to him, he stuck to it! It was also a bit everywhere, with bits for the big day as well as afterwards, to help us get through that horrible middle period before New Year.

As most of you know by now, we shop in Aldi, and I was pleasantly surprised we he got home saying that he only spent £82! That’s everything for Christmas (except the turkey and gammon, as we bought them last month) and should feed the eleven people we are having over.

So here’s the food plan for the coming week. I’m sure I’ll be all over the place again, but hey, a girl can dream right?

We’re hoping that this shop will last us until next Friday. No special reason other than the fact that that’s the first day back for The Hub, and he can do it after work, without the kids “trying” to help out.

Friday 23rd-30th Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Friday Hoops, Pear & Banana. Ham & Cheese Sandwiches, Crisps, Apple. Fish Fingers, Chips & Beans.
Saturday Shreddies & Yogurt Gammon, Egg & Chips. Jelly. Beans on Toast. Yogurt
Sunday Pancakes & Smoothie Xmas Lunch Snack Dinner
Monday Weetabix & Apple Sandwiches, Crisps & Pear. Roast Dinner
Tuesday Shreddies & Smoothie Soup & Bread Spag Bol.
Wednesday Eggy Bread Scotch Pancakes Fish Curry & Rice
Thursday Porridge & Apple Sandwiches, Yogurt & Plum Fish Cakes, Homemade Chips & Beans
Friday Egg & Soldiers Crackers, Cheese & Yogurt Homemade Pizza & Garlic Bread

Hope I’ve given you some inspiration for the coming week. It doesn’t matter if you don’t follow your plan for the whole week. It’s more of a guideline anyway to help keep you on track while you’re walking round the supermarket.

Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you all next week!

Like it? Then why not pin it for later?
